Jump Rope

A jump rope is a cheap and cheerful way to boost your heart rate. Try alternating your feet or jumping double-time. It's tricky at first but keeps getting easier, so don't give up!

Footwork Dance

Use a hula hoop or draw a box with chalk to practice side-stepping, back-peddling and zig-zagging. Work on being light on your toes. Dance to your favorite songs to add some fun.

Mirror Muscles

Stand in front of a reflective surface and slowly throw combos like 1-2 punches or 1-2-3. Watch your form and posture. With the mirror, you can see yourself and make little adjustments.

Punch Pad Partner

Take turns with a pal gently holding a pillow or folded blanket for 1 minute rounds. Focus on technique, not power. Tag team so you both stay active.

Have a buddy? Try it together - you'll stay motivated! Remember to stretch after and be kind to yourself as you learn. Stick with it and you'll be throwing down in no time.
